Brannon, Lea

Mrs. Lea Brannon

This is my 9th year at Jackson High School and my 17th year as a teacher in all. I have 3 children in the Butts County School system.

I graduated with my Bachelors and Masters from Valdosta State University.

I am co-sponsor of the Key Club with Mrs. Stewart and co-sponsor of the Beta Club with Mr. Hardy.

Course Expectations:

Advanced Algebra and Advanced Algebra Honors is the last of a sequence of three required math classes that are needed for graduation. In this course we will study Quadratic, Polynomials, Rational,  Exponential and Logarithim functions, in addition to a unit of statistics. At the completion of the course, students will be prepared to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). There will be a cumulative final at the conclusion of the semester that students will be eligible to exempt if their grade is 85 - 89 with no more than 3 absensences or 90+ with no more than 5 absensences.

We cover new material daily, if you are absent from class it is your responsibility to get the notes from a classmate or make arrangements to stay before or after school to learn the material. We offer tutoring Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30.

Class Supplies Needed

We have a classroom supply of the following, but if you would like your child to have their own you will need:

Pencils (I also recommend multi-color pens)

Dry Erase Markers (we use this frequently)

I like to be able to offer rewards to my students, so if you would like to donate individually wrapped candy to be rewards that would be AMAZING.
